2-day Mountain Navigation.
Navigation is a basic skill that every hill and mountain walker should have in order to keep themself and their group safe.
On our two-day navigation course you will learn and practise basic navigation skills in a practical, hands-on way. Our courses have no classroom content and are taught on the hill during a journey.
For those with existing navigation skills we will be able to build on these over the two days, for those new to navigating we will help you develop new skills. The course is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 (16 if you are with a parent or guardian). All of our courses are tailored to meet the needs of a varied group of people.
Course length: 2 days.
Anybody venturing in to the hills or moorlands, those looking to do MLTB courses such as Mountain Leader and Hill and Moorland qualifications.
On our night navigation course you will learn and practise poor weather and night navigation skills. We will use the same formate as above – namely teaching the skills on a journey.
Course length: 6 hrs on the hill.
Anybody with some existing navigation skills who want to develop night and poor visibility navigation skills. You must be over 18 years old.
Ideally you will have some experience of day-time navigation and will be familiar with all of the items listed in our 2-day navigation course. An ideal combination is our 2 day course followed by at the night navigation course.
