Our 12 hour Paediatric First Aid course is specifically designed for those who are working in a school environment or as childcare professionals – including childminders, pre-school staff, teachers, teaching assistants & support staff and after school club staff.

The course specifically addressees the requirements of OFSTED and meets the EYFS requirements. It will give you essential skills for infant & child first aid and provide basic lifesaving and first aid techniques to the standards laid down by the UK & European Resuscitation Protocols.

There is a minimum training time of 12 hours (not including breaks) and this must be delivered over a MINIMUM of 2-days; however, the course can be delivered over several smaller sessions if this more easily fits your schedule.

The course covers all the basic skills needed for a first aider dealing with a casualty of any age but there is an emphasis on first aid specific to children and on childhood illnesses and conditions. Further, time is given to discussing and practicing first aid with complicating factors such as communication issues.

Resuscitation and chocking practice is performed on child and baby resuscitation models as well as adult models, again with an emphasis on the child / baby.

Included in the course is specific training in the use of AED equipment.

Our course literature includes a specific Paediatric First Aid booklet.

As with the Level 1 (Emergency First Aid at Work) course, assessment is made continuously over the 12-hours.
