Our New 1-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course is specifically designed for you to be compliant with the new DfE paediatric first aid regulations. It is aimed at those who are working in a school environment or as childcare professionals – including childminders, pre-school staff, teachers, teaching assistants & support staff and after school club staff.

The course specifically addressees the requirements the new DfE requirements, It will give you essential skills for infant & child first aid and provide basic lifesaving and first aid techniques to the standards laid down by the UK & European Resuscitation Protocols.

The course covers and introduction to paediatric first aid and deals with:

  • unresponsive and breathing normally
  • unresponsive and not breathing normally
  • having a seizure
  • choking
  • suffering from shock
  • bleeding

By the end of the course you will understand the role and responsibilities of the emergency paediatric first aider, have the ability to assess an emergency situation and prioritise your actions and deal with the above life-threatening situations.

Included in the course is specific training in the use of AED equipment.

Our course literature includes a specific Paediatric First Aid booklet.


As with the Level 1 (Emergency First Aid at Work) course, assessment is made continuously over the day.
